Wrapping up his letter to the Hebrews, the anonymous author concludes by returning to his theme of the sufficiency of Christ. Whether comparing the New Covenant to the Old, or considering how to live out our faith in this hostile world, his message is the same: Jesus is enough.
Practical advice is also included in this final chapter, such as how to treat our leaders, how to view marriage, how to guard our hearts against the temptation of money, and how to endure rejection. We are encouraged with the teaching that "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever" (vs. 8).
Although Hebrews has a tendency to be complicated and full of Old Testament allusions that our modern sensibilities may miss, it's theological weight and powerful prose makes it an indispensable foundation stone for our faith!
