That’s a very good question. Everything I’ve seen on this passage interprets Philip’s sudden disappearance/reappearance as a supernatural miracle. Certainly an unusual experience! I wonder what it was like for Philip and what he thought of it.
Have you noticed that the Gospel presentations recorded in Acts are tailored for their audiences? Compare Stephen's (chapter 7) and Paul's (chapter 13) to the Jews and Peter's to the Gentiles at Cornelius' house (chapter 10).
In Acts 8:39’ it says “ the Lord suddenly took Philip away”. Is he saying vanished or just left the eunuch?
