Psalm 52: Judgment Is Coming

Psalm 52 reads as yet another impassioned defense of the "base case" of righteousness: though it seems like the wicked prosper, this is just a temporary state of affairs.  A time is definitely coming when God will settle up with the evildoers, and the harm that they wanted to inflict on others will be inflicted on them instead.  As we have seen, many psalms contain this theme, with the occasional one questioning why the day of reckoning appears to be delayed.  No one who reads through the Psalms should ever be able to claim that they weren't warned that God is on the side of the righteous and will deliver them, and that He opposes the evildoers and will judge them.
