- Bowl 1: Poured out on land; ugly and painful sores on those with the mark of the beast
- Bowl 2: Poured out on sea; everything turns to blood, all creatures in the sea die
- Bowl 3: Poured out on rivers and springs; freshwater turns to blood
- Interlude: These judgments are just; Blood for blood!
- Bowl 4: Poured out on the sun; scorching heat
- Bowl 5: Poured out on the throne of the beast; darkness
- Bowl 6: Poured out on the Euphrates; dried up up to prepare for the final war: Armaggedon
- Bowl 7: Poured out on the air; "It is done!" - lightning, thunder and the worst earthquake ever and huge hailstones.
It sure would be nice if the Rapture happens before any of these judgments - but I think we're going to have to wait to find out!
Verses 5-7 intrigued me. They read "Then I heard the angel in charge of the waters say: "You are just in these judgments, O Holy One, you who are and who were; for they shed the blood of your holy people and your prophets, and you have given them blood to drink as they deserve." And I heard the altar respond :"Yes, Lord God Almighty, true and just are your judgments.""
ReplyDeleteThis text seems like the angels could possibly be consoling God. It could give us a glimpse into God's compassionate nature, that though He did what He had to do, He took no pleasure in it. It kind of reminds me of when God decided to send the flood, as He was grieved by humans.
