I Corinthians 16: Parting Thoughts

As Paul wraps up his first letter to the Corinthians, he turns his attention to practical matters regarding his schedule, his compatriots, and final imperatives he wants to leave them with.

About his schedule:  Paul is currently at Ephesus, enjoying a good season of ministry - complete with opposition(!) (vs. 8-9).  Then he hopes to come to Corinth for a visit, passing through Macedonia (vs. 5).  After that, he will take and/or send the Corinthians' love offering to Jerusalem.

About his compatriots:  Paul mentions that Timothy might come to them.  If so, they should support him.  Paul also says that Apollos might show up as well, but that he didn't want to come at the present time.  Aquila and Priscilla are also known to the Corinthian Church, and they send their greetings (vs. 19).

About his final imperatives:  What thoughts would you leave your followers with?  Here is what Paul chose to say -
"Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong" (vs. 13).
"Do everything in love" (vs. 14).
and his final sign-off - "My love to all of you in Christ Jesus.  Amen" (vs. 24).
