Matthew 24: The Boy Scout Motto

You know the Boy Scout motto, right?  "Be prepared."  

Jesus would agree.

He said, in discussing the endtimes with His disciples in Matthew 24:44, "Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an unexpected hour."

There is a lot we aren't told concerning the end (especially the big "when" question!), but Jesus does stress again and again the necessity of always being prepared for the end.  Whether it's through a parable of an unfaithful servant or a direct teaching, Jesus employs several means at His disposal to warn His followers that they must strive to be ready for His sudden appearance.  He wants us awake and alert and always prepared for His return.

Because, ready or not, Jesus IS coming again...
