Psalm 1: Be a Tree!

The first Psalm contrasts the way of the wicked versus the path of the righteous.

The righteous man is blessed, delighting in the law of the Lord, meditating on His law.  As a result, he is like a well-watered tree, bearing fruit and leaves.  Indeed, the righteous have a blessed and prosperous life, in the best sense of the word.

Rather than being firmly rooted in the Lord, however, the wicked are like wind-driven chaff.  Here today, gone tomorrow.

Feel free to share any of your insights!

  1. Bering a prospering tree is not a given for a believer. We need water and nutrients. Being in God's Word and in relationship with Him leads to righteous living. We need the food regularly to thrive.....it is a daily need!

  2. A Facebook hoax is circulating misinterpreting what the Pope said about hell and Adam and Eve. One of my friends ,a non believer reposted it. As I was researching what was actually said so I could respond the same friend rescinded the comment stating he discovered it to be a well written hoax. The wicked are like chaff which the wind drives away. My friend is not wicked just lost. Please pray for him , he obviously is searching for the truth and pray that I can help him find it.

  3. My study Bible had an interesting insight: When a tree is prosperous, it benefits others as well, thus a fruitful Christian should be a blessing to others.
