The Song Of Solomon 6: Where Did Our Love Go?

"Where has your lover gone, most beautiful of women?  Which way did your lover turn, that we may look for him with you?" (vs. 1)
The dance between lover and beloved continues in chapter 6 as the search for the lover continues.  The beloved tracks her lover to his garden.  Then we hear again about the reciprocal nature of their mutual love: "I am my lover's and my lover is mine" (vs. 3).

The lover chimes in with a repeat of previous professions of his beloved's beauty in her eyes, hair, teeth, etc. His claim is that she exceeds all others in her beauty (vs. 9).

As the lover and beloved draw closer and share their expressions of mutual love, the chorus encourages them and weighs in with observations and questions.  This meditation on love seems to be building toward a crescendo.
