I Thessalonians 5: Finding God's Will

After sharing some powerful thoughts about the Return of Christ, Paul brings his letter to the Thessalonians to a close.  Along the way, he shares three short but powerful verses that encapsulate God's will for His children.

  • "Rejoice always" (vs. 16)
  • "Pray without ceasing" (vs. 17)
  • "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you" (vs. 18)

Perhaps these verses may help if you've ever struggled with wondering, "What does God want of me?  What is His will for me?"  Whatever else can be said about God's will for you, these things will always be true: He wants you to rejoice, to pray always, and to be thankful no matter what.  These actions might be easier said than done, but nobody ever promised that God's will would be easy.

At least these three verses help make it clear!
