II Chronicles 8: Plan Your Work, Then Work Your Plan

Some of Solomon's wisdom can be seen in the way he governed the kingdom after the passing of his father David.  So much of what had been laid up and prepared for him, Solomon put to good use.  He faithfully followed the plan.

The preparations for the building of the Temple, as well as the instructions David left for the administration of worship, were enacted.  "According to the ordinance of his father David, he appointed the divisions of the priests for their service, and the Levites for their offices of praise and ministry alongside the priests as the duty of each day required, and the gatekeepers in their divisions for the several gates; for so David the man of God had commanded" (vs. 14).

II Chronicles 8 describes how functional the government of Solomon was: "Thus all the work of Solomon was accomplished from the day the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid until the house of the Lord was finished completely" (vs. 16).

Solomon planned his work, then worked his plan.  If you want to be wise like Solomon, maybe that is a good word for you!
