Genesis 11: Say What?

What we've got here is a failure to communicate.

Have you ever had a communication problem?  Odds are the answer is yes, even if everyone was speaking the same language!

One of the basic traits of being a human is expressing ourselves in language.  Genesis remembers a world where, originally, everyone spoke the same language.  Everyone was able to express themselves and be understood.  But God saw what trouble awaited us if that situation were allowed to continue.  His verdict is that "nothing will be impossible for them."  So, in Genesis 11 at the building of the Tower of Babel, the languages of man were confused and the nations separated.  The tower was left incomplete, unfinished.

I can't help but wonder, however, what happens when the events at the Tower of Babel are reversed?  Recent decades have yielded incredible advances in bringing language barriers down with quick - even instantaneous - translations.  Not surprisingly, the amount of things that humans are able to do is also growing rapidly.  Where do you think this will lead?  Perhaps to a new Tower of Babel?  Or to a different end?

Perhaps nothing will be impossible?
