"Teamwork makes the dream work" may be a bit of a cliche, but in the case of rebuilding the wall around Jerusalem, it was true!
The third chapter of Nehemiah describes in detail who did what where on the wall. With colorful names like "Dung Gate"(vs. 14) and "Tower of the Overns" (vs. 11) and the ""Water Gate" (vs. 26), the workers repaired and built up the wall from where it had been left in ruins by the Babylonians. (I wonder if there was ever a scandal connected to the Water Gate?) It took all these families working together and sharing the load to bring the defenses of Jerusalem back online.
