Daniel 11: You Can't Tell The Players Without A Scorecard!

Everything about Daniel 11 is obvious, so there's no need for me to blog about it.  You understand this clearly, right?

Well, okay, so maybe chapter 11 is a little confusing, what with the "king of the north" and the "king of the south" and their various detailed activities!  Perhaps the phrase "game of thrones" is an apt description?

Daniel's vision contains a message for his day and age, as well as for the era of the Seleucid Empire and the Maccabees, which seems to be what a lot of Daniel 11 concerns.  But it also contains a message for us, too. Although kings rage and war and plot against one another, and God's people are often caught in the crossfire, the Lord has His eye on all of if and is not caught by surprise about anything.  He knows precisely what will happen and when.  Even when we may not understand it, our heavenly Father does and is in control.

Though it all may strike us as terribly confusing and cryptic, the important thing to realize is that the end is assured.  And when we get to Daniel 12, we will see just how assured it is!
