Psalm 147 calls for actions on our part which are really reactions to God's original work in His creation.
For instance, verse 7 tells us to "sing to the Lord with thanksgiving," while verse 12 enjoins us to "praise the Lord, O Jerusalem!" The reasons for these reactions follow. We hear such actions on the part of God as His compassion on people, His power over the universe, and His special concern for Jerusalem. Where God acts, we react. Because of His amazing goodness and greatness, we respond with praise and thanksgiving. Amen!
